Departure

The cool morning at Kafue River surprises us with clouds. The weather has changed and a thin cloudcover hides the Sun. Even here the weather can be bad. Well, luck was on our side. Today we don't mind the clouds any more.

Cloudy - for the first time on our tour

For the last time we take down the tents and store them. In the last days we managed it in well under one hour, so we did reach our aim.

For the last time we take down the tents and store them in the vans.

We leave for the airport. From Lusaka we first fly back to Johannesburg which is actually the wrong direction. There Christina is the first to leave the group. She flies on to Windhoek. On the flight to Frankfurt the rest of the group see once more the crescent Moon setting horizontally ...

Heading back home!

After a long and uneventful flight through the night we reach Frankfurt in the early morning. We are not used to seeing daylight at these hours of the day. Here we have to say goodbye to our Dutch and German friends.

The first farewell - in Frankfurt the group spilts up.

The Austrian part of the eclipse team boards the plane to Vienna. The EU economic summit in Salzburg causes stricter procedures for people and luggage coming into Austria. But at least we know that our luggage is on board.

In Vienna everything is there. Not a piece is missing!

Everything arrived! The successful expedition ends without problems.

Now it is time for the final farewell. 22 people, who partly did not know each other before the tour, became a team, even friends, in the 16 days in the African wilderness.

A last photo of the group. Out there friends and family are waiting.

We look forward to the next WAA tour, wherever it may take us ...
