Leaving home - the big meeting

After weeks of preparations the big day has finally come; whatever we have not got yet will simply not be there. At about 4 p.m. we - the 13 Austrian members of the group - meet at the airport. A first glance at our equipment: well, not as bad as we thought.

Collecting pieces of luggage -
will the airline accept all of it?
Will all the pieces arrive? And if so, in what state?

The first leg of the tour leads us to Frankfurt, Germany, where we meet the rest of the group. Besides this there is no direct flight from Vienna to the South of Africa.

Checking in. What is in the big barrel? Baked beans for the next 16 days?
No, it is Gerhard Bachmayer's 12,5" Portaball!

After a short flight to Frankfurt we meet our friends from Germany and Holland and Beverly, Gerhard's wife, who works in Germany.
