The Robinson expedition

We camp in the Okawango Delta, far from civilisation. We don't have to hunt, we have enough food with us, but otherwise we have to get along in the wild. Among other things this means washing in the river (which can only be reached via the boats in the reed.)

We spend the day with an expedition to another island and - an observation of the sun and the moon in Doris' brave telescope, which followed us even on this leg of the trip. Our guides get a first chance to look through a telescope. Observation report in German: click here..

Astronomy as a hobby is great, but we think it is also important
to pass on knowledge about astronomy. Even though the language
barrier does not make it easy for us.

The boats take us to another island. There we follow our
experienced guides on the tracks of elephants through the bush.

We found them! Carefully our guides lead us closer to the herd.
The photographers get busy.

The evening offers something for everybody. Despite some clouds, the stargazers enjoy the southern sky and for the first time the Large Magellanic Cloud through the telescope. (Observation report in German: click here), In the meantime at the camp the traditional music has started and we have a lot of fun with our guides, despite some language problems. The language of music is international.

Music connects people. If Wolfgang goes on dancing like this
he will soon be the next chief ...
